Our History
Originally from Pittsburgh, the Wirl’s relocated to Carlisle, PA first establishing Wirl Builders, a successful custom home building business. The Wirl’s constructed many homes in the Carlisle and Boiling Springs area and are known by many for their contributions to the community.
Later, with plans to build a self-storage facility, Iron Forge Storage began in 1999, with an interest in providing self- storage services to the community while also honoring our historical roots in Boiling Springs, PA. The name, “Iron Forge” was inspired by the Iron Furnace, founded in 1760 by John Rigbie & Co. which is still standing today.
